Straight Street’s mission is to provide a community-based, structured and supportive residential sober living environment for returning citizens (prisoner re-entry) and those struggling with substance abuse disorder with an emphasis on relapse prevention and reintegration back into society. They have peer support specialists that work with the residents and they offer access to free classes and groups at the North Side Recovery Community Center. Their houses are accredited with the National Association of Recovery Residences and follow the social model of recovery. There are grants to cover the cost of housing including: ages 18-25 and those with a history of opioid addiction.
