In October 2015, the Impacting Poverty Commission produced a call to action report after 18 months of studying the causes and effects of poverty. The report included creating what is now known as Prosper Springfield, an initiative to follow through with the recommendations in the report. The initiative was created in March 2017 to collaborate with the 300+ entities in the community working to make the Springfield community more prosperous. Prosper Springfield is charged with reporting to the community how well we are progressing with the recommendations in the report. The review process for the action items and endorsements will take time and updates will be provided, on a regular basis, through various forms of media and printed materials.

A Steering Committee was established for Prosper Springfield, followed by the creation of an Advisory Council and Work Groups. The Advisory Council meets every other month and their meetings are open to the public. The meetings take place at 5:30 P.M.  The Advisory Council has monthly committee meetings focused on the call to action recommendations. By the end of 2017, People Centric Consulting Group developed a strategic plan for Prosper Springfield to refine how we operate and focus our work. The Strategic Plan enabled Prosper Springfield to start 2018 with clear objectives and strategies for reviewing the report recommendations, identify duplications/gaps while assessing effectiveness to build for scalability and long-term sustainability.

Best Regards,
